Hey there hot stuff! 🥵! It’s summertime in the Northern Hemisphere and it feels extra hot out there!!
Drop a 🔥 below if you’re feeling the heat!
Need to cool off 😅?
Chandra Bhedan is a great breathwork technique to help keep you nice and cool. Yoga teaches that we have three main nadis … the Ida on the left, the Sushumna in the center, and the Pingala on the right.
The Ida is associated with lunar energy, so it’s a cooler energy. Chandra, meaning moon in Sanskrit, Bhedan is left-nostril breathing said to stimulate the Ida Nadi, thus cooling your body off. It can also be an incredibly calming breath, slowing the body down, so try it at first for 10 rounds and work your way up to 2-5 minutes.
🔥Sit comfortably.
🔥Cover your right nostril with your right thumb.
🔥Bring your index and middle fingers to rest on your 3rd eye.
🔥Let the ring and pinkie relax.
🔥 Inhale and exhale long and slow through the left nostril.
🔥 Count the inhales and exhales. Begin with 10 rounds and slowly increase rounds as you feel comfortable.
💜Return to a natural breath.
